The
two parts of the island, Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre,
are divided by a very narrow water channel. Basse-Terre (low land), is
actually the part with mountain ranges and rain-forests that descend to
exquisite beaches and coves. Grande-Terre (large land) is in fact smaller and
pre-dominantly flat with stunning beaches along its southern coastline between
Gosier and Sainte Anne. In addition there are three smaller islands Marie-Galante,
La Desirade and Les Saintes, all of which are easily reached. |
